Monogram Project
The objective of the Monogram project was to demonstrate the use of letterforms and glyphs in graphic design. Students were to use an initial of their name to create an image that communicates something personal about them. This project, like the Olympic Symbol project, was produced using the computer software Adobe Illustrator. The image had to fit within a 5.25" square, and had to visually resemble a letter.
For the direction of my project, I chose to illustrate a dinosaur. As a child, I was fascinated with dinosaurs, and I feel that they played a large role in developing my imagination. For the monogram, I used the initial of my first name, an L, which can be seen as the shape of the dinosaur.
I like how the project turned out overall. I am happy with the color scheme and how I illustrated the dinosaur. I dislike the sparsity of plants in the background, though - it looks a little bare. |
