About the Class
Pre-Engineering is a project-intensive course that focuses on the various aspects of engineering. While some time is spent doing bookwork, most class time is spent devoted to the building and testing of designs for a multitude of projects. These projects are all displayed and explained on this website under the "Pre-Engineering" tab; each sub-page showcases a different project.
For each project, you may read something about "take-aways." Take-aways are valuable lessons that have been learned, or "taken away" by doing the project. My instructor for this course always stresses the importance of having a take-away from everything - in other words, learning from everything you do. Overall, my biggest take-aways from this class were project management and time management, the importance of testing designs and having strong supports, and all of the concepts learned in the class (such as pneumatics, mechanics, and electronics).
