Clip Art Project
The objective of the Clip Art project was to demonstrate the use of basic geometric shapes in design. For this project, students had to create recognizable images out of various types of pre-printed circles, triangles, and squares. Final drawings for each set of shapes had to be submitted, all drawn with an ink pen and drafting tools only. No free-handed drawing was allowed for the final submissions. The original shapes could not be altered in any way.
In my direction of this project, I first sketched several different designs for each set of shapes so that I would have plenty of ideas to choose from when I created my final drawings. For most of my ideas, I thought of shapes as they are found in nature - on animals, plants, and even in space. These basic geometric shapes can also be found in any human object or structure.
I liked the drawing aspect of this project. I love to draw, so it was fun to come up with an image for each shape. I also liked that I was able to choose from several ideas for each shape. I disliked that some of my final drawings have mistakes, since I was not used to drawing with drafting tools.
