Event Poster Project
The objective of the Event Poster project was to use the principles of desktop publishing to design an attention-grabbing poster promoting an event. The poster was printed on 8.5" x 11" paper and had to include at least one line of text and at least one graphic. Adobe Illustrator was used to design the poster.
For the direction of my project, I chose to promote my school's art and literary magazine, Phoenix. The magazine showcases students' work, including fine art, writing, photography, music, and other creative works. As a staff member of the magazine, I knew that it needed student submissions. I saw this project as the perfect opportunity to raise student awareness about the magazine. I included all information necessary for students to submit their work, such as what to submit, when and where to submit, and how to submit work.
I liked that I was able to use this project to promote an event for another group. On the project itself, I like the fonts and graphics I chose to use, and how I arranged them. If I could change anything, I would make the large phoenix in the background darker, because it turned out brighter than expected once printed. |
